It's that crazy annual Carnevale time of year here in Italy. But things are a little bit different this year: Carnevale in Venice has been cancelled, the Duomo in Milan is closed, and across the northern part of Italy, there will be no Ash Wednesday Masses - the coronavirus has arrived in Italy, many citizens are contracting the virus, and they are unknowingly spreading it to others.
Whether you travel through airports or on cruise ships anywhere in the world in the near future, please be careful. Wash your hands repeatedly! Use alcohol hand cleaners, follow news reports... we need everyone as safe as can be.
Lodge elections are held biennially at the February meeting. We thank Bill Johnson Jr for his terrific past service as our president. I know he's smiling as he passes the baton / gavel to our incoming president, Al Iannacone. We'll provide the new Council roster in next month's post.
